Mastering the B1 English Test for UK Settlement (ILR) & Upcoming Changes

B1 level Secure English Language Test (SELT)

If you are applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) or British Citizenship in the UK, proving your English language proficiency is a crucial step.

Currently, the Home Office requires applicants to pass a B1 level Secure English Language Test (SELT) focusing on Speaking and Listening.

🚨 Important Update: Prepare for B2
The UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) rules are frequently reviewed. It is highly anticipated that the English language requirement for ILR and Settlement will soon be raised to the B2 level. Whether you need B1 now or are preparing for the upcoming B2 requirement, starting your tailored preparation early is the key to success.

1-on-1 Online Preparation Packages
As an experienced tutor, I offer completely customized, one-to-one online preparation courses designed specifically around your current English level and learning speed.

  • Tailored Duration: Depending on your initial assessment, a complete B1 or B2 preparation program typically requires between 10 to 30 lessons.

  • Intensive Mock Exams: To guarantee your confidence, the final 5 lessons of your program are dedicated entirely to exam simulation. During these sessions, I act as the official SELT examiner, conducting realistic mock tests so you know exactly what to expect on exam day.

Pricing & Payment Structure
To provide a structured and committed learning environment, lessons are offered in prepaid packages:

  • Lesson Fee: £40.00 per lesson.

  • Payment Plan: Lessons are purchased in prepaid blocks of 5 lessons (£200 per block).
